Grateful For...

… a life to live, my husband to share it with, a little boy who makes me laugh, loving families, friends that care, a supportive and wonderful community, all our needs provided, our daily bread, a cozy home, a warm fireplace, a productive farm, a beautiful valley…
… and most of all an awesome God who love, guides, provides, and protects.

Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Fall on the Farm

Ready for Winter

Slowly things are starting to get back to normal around here. Andrew is recovering quite well.
It is funny how things turn out sometimes. We planned to be at the farmer’s markets the whole season but then Andrew got sick. I thought I might still make it to some of the markets, but then it turned out Andrew needed surgery. So the whole process ended up being longer than we expected. Plans changed, some things never got done, but that is okay. The important things did. Friends came over and dug all our potatoes, neighbors brought over firewood, the garden got cleaned up and a neighbor tilled it for us. We are prepared for winter now.
So many have helped us out through this time. Prayers, encouraging words, generosity, meals, an amazing benefit dinner by the Chewelah Farmer’s market.
We live in an amazing community and have wonderful friends! We just want to say thank you to everyone who has been there for us. We are so grateful!

Update

I was planning to be at the markets this week but plans have changed. Andrew is being transferred to Sacred Heart in Spokane tomorrow. He will probably be having surgery on Friday to get his colon removed. So... I will not be at the markets this week. But hopefully next week I will be.

Cabbage

We were able to get a whole bunch of cabbage so I had fun a few weeks ago making sauerkraut and spiced red cabbage. I also tried making some kim chi (sp?).

David Helps Milk

David really enjoys coming out to milk with me. He watches with fascination as the milk squirts out, pets Hannah, and even tries to steal her grain sometimes. Here are some photos I took a few weeks ago of him while I was milking.
