San Luis Obispo Farmers Market

We always enjoy visiting other Farmers Markets while traveling. It is especially fun to go to the winter markets in California. This time of year there are some amazing and exotic fruits available. There is an abundance of citrus, and avocados. Some of my favorite unique fruits are tropical flavored pineapple guavas and tangy deep red blood oranges.

The Farmers Market on Thursday evenings in San Luis Obispo is quite an event. The street is closed off for several blocks. There are lots of food stands and lots of produce. On the street corners there is music and juggling. And the street is packed with people. It is always great fun to go visit it.

Visiting and Seeds

On our way home we stopped to visit my great Aunt Fran and Uncle Charlie in Petaluma. It was nice to see them and show them the baby.

We also stopped at the new Baker Creek Heirloom seed store. It was a lot of fun. I bought a few things even though I didn't really need anything.

Fruit

On Thursday evening we went to the San Luis Obispo farmers market. It is quite the event. There are several blocks of produce and several blocks of food booths. Unfortunately I forgot to take any pictures while we were there. We bought several exotic fruits while we were there. I did take pictures of those when we got home.

Blood orange. I think these are so pretty inside.

Passionfruit(purple) and Pineapple guava(green) The pinapple guava is my favorite, it has a sweet, tart and tropical flavor.

A Walk on the Beach

Yesterday we went to the beach. We took Melissa with us for the day and she enjoyed carrying David around. It was a beautiful sunny day, perfect for walking along the beach and exploring tide pools.
